Winslow Public Schools, located in the heart of Winslow Maine, are a valued asset of the local community.
With an approximate enrollment of 1100 students, our caring and talented professional faculty and staff work hard to create a sense of belonging and foster individual relationships. Winslow Public Schools offer a wide range of opportunities to our students as they prepare for the future. We provide a safe and caring learning environment within which students can excel academically while also growing and learning through a range of extra curricular activities including, music, performing arts, athletics and assorted clubs.
Winslow Public Schools is made up of three buildings spread over one beautiful campus hosting grades Pre-K - 6 in the elementary school, grades 7 and 8 at the newly constructed junior high school, and grades 9-12 at the high school.
Winslow High School is accredited by the New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Maine Department of Educational and Cultural Services. Juniors and Seniors may enroll in college courses for credit each year at no cost to the students. In addition, we offer eight dual enrollment classes for college credit and 11 Advanced Placement courses. Students also have the option to attend programming off-campus such as the Mid-Maine Technical Center.
Rooted in our commitment to teach the Maine Learning Results, we offer a variety of differentiated curricula and programming in order to best meet the needs of all students from Pre-K through to graduation. Winslow graduates leave our schools and are accepted to top colleges and universities around the country and throughout the Maine University and Community College systems. Other students go on to enter the workforce as skilled workers, public servants, and entrepreneurs. Still others garner the honor of entering into our country’s military services. The five year average of students attending a two or four year college or university, enrolling in the military, or enrolling in a certificate program is 82 percent.
No matter what path our graduates set out on after graduation, they do so with our community’s support and encouragement to build upon the firm foundation of academic excellence and social responsibility set during their time attending Winslow schools.
